General terms
 

Puffin Travel is an authorized tour operator licensed by the Icelandic Tourist Board.

Puffin Travel reserves the right to change the itinerary of any tour, or to delay, alter, or cancel a tour due to weather, road conditions, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

The safety of our guests and staff is our highest priority, and all operational decisions are made with safety in mind.
 

Cancellation Policy
 

Day Tours

• Cancellations received less than 36 hours before departure are non-refundable.

• Changes to bookings made less than 48 hours before departure cannot be accepted.

• All cancellation and amendment deadlines are based on local Icelandic time.
   

If Puffin Travel cancels a tour due to adverse weather or unsafe operating conditions, guests will be offered either:
 

• An alternative tour date (subject to availability); or

• A full refund.
  
   

Prices
 

• All prices are quoted in U.S. Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.

• Prices are per group, unless specified otherwise.

• Payments and refunds are processed in USD. Puffin Travel is not responsible for any gain or loss resulting from currency exchange rate fluctuations between the date of payment and the date of refund.
   

Payment Terms
 

Day Tours:
 

• Full payment must be received no later than 7 days before departure, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
   

Multi-Day Tours
 

• Full payment must be received no later than 14 days before departure, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

• Failure to make payment by the agreed deadline may result in cancellation of the booking.
   

Taxes and Fees:
 

• All organized tours include applicable Icelandic Value Added Tax (VAT). VAT invoices are issued upon payment.
   

Customer Responsibilities:
 

• Guests are responsible for arriving at the agreed meeting point on time. Puffin Travel is not responsible for missed departures resulting from late arrival.
   

• Guests are responsible for ensuring they are physically capable of participating in the booked tour and must inform Puffin Travel of any medical condition, mobility limitation, or other circumstance that may affect their participation.
   

Privacy
 

• Puffin Travel treats all customer information as confidential and processes personal data in accordance with applicable Icelandic and European data protection laws.
   

• Personal information will only be used for booking administration, tour operations, legal obligations, or other purposes necessary to provide the requested services. Customer information will not be shared with third parties except where required by law or as necessary to provide the booked services.
   

Governing Law
 

• These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Iceland.
   

• Any dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Icelandic courts.

Responsibility and Liability
 

• Puffin Travel reserves the right to modify routes, itineraries, schedules, or services where necessary due to weather, road conditions, safety concerns, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
   

• While every reasonable effort will be made to operate tours as advertised, Puffin Travel shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, interruptions, or changes caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, volcanic activity, road closures, strikes, government actions, or other force majeure events.
   

• Puffin Travel is responsible only for the services it provides directly. We are not liable for the acts, omissions, delays, or failures of independent third-party service providers, including airlines, accommodation providers, transport companies, or other suppliers, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable Icelandic law.
   

• Puffin Travel shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including missed connections, additional accommodation costs, loss of enjoyment, or other incidental expenses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
   

• Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits Puffin Travel's liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable Icelandic law.
   

• Guests are responsible for obtaining appropriate travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical expenses, personal belongings, and travel delays.
